Ridge Point is led by the following four teams: Elders, Board of Directors, Senior Staff, and Staff.
Elders
This team guards the faith community and the teaching we participate in and guides us as they discern God’s will and direction for Ridge Point and its ministries.
Board of Directors
This team is responsible for the "things" at Ridge Point. The team is delegated by the Elders to oversee all legal, financial, human resources and property (owned by Ridge Point) matters. As necessary, further delineation of responsibilities shall be determined by the Elders.
Senior Staff Team
This team is responsible for implementing the vision established by the Elders, within the guidelines established by the Directors, and overseeing the daily operation, advancement and ministry of Ridge Point. The Senior Staff Team leads and oversees day-to-day operations of the Church and implements the vision for the future direction of the Church. Through the members of the Senior Staff Team, leadership, empowerment and service are provided for each group or team of the church.
Staff
This team reports to the Senior Staff Team and is reponsible for implementing the daily operation of Ridge Point.
The Elders, Board of Directors, and the Senior Staff team make up what we call our Senior Leadership Team. There are several unique features of the Senior Leadership Team at Ridge Point that cause this community to be safe guarded against inappropriate or misguided leadership in each team as a whole.
The Senior Pastor is an active part of each team. The Senior Pastor is an Elder, a Director, and the team leader for the Senior Staff Team. He is ultimately accountable to the Elders as a whole for the leadership of the faith community.
There is also an Elder on the Senior Staff Team as part of the group that leads the faith community in day-to-day leadership of the ministry. This Elder supports the Senior Staff Team in carrying out the vision of the Elders by assisting the Senior Pastor in ensuring the spiritual, relational and missional health of the individual Team members and the team as a whole. This Elder also ensures that the message communicated to the Senior Staff Team is in line with the Elders’ leadership.
In addition to the Senior Pastor, there are also two other Elders serving on the Board of Directors. This causes the three groups to be well informed of the other groups’ discerning of God’s activity in the Faith Community and the activity of each team in pursuing God’s will.
Ridge Point is committed to unity in our Senior Leadership and understands God calls our Elders to gain the vision for our Faith Community from God through the Bible and His Holy Spirit and for the direction to be checked through the interaction of the Elders with the Board of Directors and the Senior Staff Team. This system of leadership causes the desire to become reality.
Senior Leadership Stories
I serve for a variety of reasons. I can honestly say that it gives me joy to serve – it is not a burden or something I do begrudgingly. No one has twisted my arm to get me to do something which I really don't want to do. It gives me a sense of fulfillment. I believe God is allowing me to serve where He has called me. Serving in an area which "fits me" helps me have a sense of giving something back to Him. It gives me a sense of teamwork. It's a great feeling to know that I have a small part of "playing on God's team" at Ridge Point. – Dave (Director)
I serve so I can actively bring heaven here. I experience joy in serving because I am able to see life change happen, broken people become whole again. I'm not simply a bystander when this happens, I am actively partnering with God so others can experience heaven here on Earth. – Britton (staff)
Ever since committing my life to Christ some 37 years ago, my passion has
always been to serve in the local church. I think it's because I know how
critical the mission of the church is and how exciting it is to bring
healing to individual lives. Through the many ministries the church is
commissioned to do, and how I as an individual member can be used in some of
these ministries, that's what brings the joy! – Dave (Elder)
Imagine that there is an empty lot in your neighborhood and no one is tending to it. It becomes overgrown and trash-infested. Then, along comes someone with a vision for what it could be! They want to see it become something the entire neighborhood can enjoy – not build a house, but something all can use and be a part of. Not only do they have the vision, but they have the desire to see that vision carried out (there are a lot of dreamers in this world, but not all of them know how to make those dreams become a reality). In order to do that, they enlist the help and ideas of the people living in that neighborhood – i.e. allowing input and buy in, yet always guiding the process. Eventually plans are drawn up, a project list is created and the person with the vision gets people inspired to get on board and be directly involved in the project. Then – a park emerges out of all that! But, it doesn’t stop there because once the park has been created – it gets used and enjoyed and more people join in, and more!
That’s what senior leadership at Ridge Point is like. We follow God’s direction and vision for fixing what is broken in this world. And then, we lead and inspire others to get on board and join us in the project! Instead of going out and tackling that empty lot all by ourselves, we have the privilege of exercising our gifts in leading, encouraging and empowering others! God calls us to inspire others in the work of His Kingdom. We see what others do not see – instead of saying “I’ll believe it when I see it,” we can say with all confidence “I’ll see it when I believe it!” It is then our calling to help others see it, too. – JoEllen (staff)
“Serve WHOLEHEARTEDLY, as if you were serving the Lord, not men…” (Ephesians 6:7)
I serve WHOLEHEARTEDLY for 3 main reasons…
The main reason is because the Bible mandates that we use the gifts God has given us, in service for Him. If I truly love God, He expects me to love my neighbor. These two things are inseparable…. I HAVE to serve!
The second reason is that our community needs demand it. We have been called to be the visible hands and feet of Jesus Christ, as we bring grace to a lost and hurting world. The world experiences Jesus when we demonstrate His love through serving.
The third reason is that the church’s capacity to reach the lost expands when all members of the body serve individually as well as corporately. We are all members of ONE body, with many parts, all working together to function as a whole. The body is more complete when all the parts are serving.
My joy in serving comes from seeing life changing relationships develop as we become “the lesser” so others can be “the greater.” As I empty myself of “ME,” there is so much more room for God to take residence within me! My heart is so encouraged when I see a tear being replaced by a smile because of a hug, a word of encouragement, a tangible need being met...what a privilege it is to provide healing through serving. – Lisa (staff)
It is a privilege to serve on the Board of Directors for Ridge Point Community Church. From the time I joined, it has been obvious that Board members have universally exhibited an intense commitment to the mission of bringing lost people to a full life in Christ. There is no question that the Holy Spirit and God’s Word direct the decisions and actions of the Board of Directors. Each decision (no matter how large or small) is analyzed and scrutinized from this perspective. I could not be more excited about serving God and the community with a group of such highly motivated and capable individuals to carry out God’s work. – Haans (Director)
We have to continue to remember that this time here is really limited. Eternity by definition is forever. It bothers me that so many folks don’t know this. I believe RPCC’s culture and philosophy is the best way to communicate this to the lost, so that is why I serve. I want to do all I can to further this mission within my gift set. – Doug (Director)
Ridge Point is a place where God is working. It’s a place where Biblical truths can be found and honest answers are told. It’s a place filled with the love of Jesus, grace and hope. I feel humbled and honored to be able to serve in a place where these things are true. The bottom line is this; by giving my time at Ridge Point, I get to be a part of helping people live better lives today, and ultimately better eternities! I can’t think of a better reason to serve! – Jessica (Director)
I feel challenged and motivated by Ridge Point's mission. I am inspired by the life change that the Spirit is causing. I feel blessed to be able to have mentors in my life. I have been blessed with an assortment of Church, work and personal experiences and relationships.
I need to serve out of gratitude for what God has done for me and have been honored to be an Elder for the last several years. - Doug (Elder)
